The year 2002 was the 60th anniversary of the
Battle of the Coral Sea.
This battle has long been celebrated and
commemorated in Australia. For many years it was celebrated as the battle
that ‘saved’ Australia. Did it? Should we still see this event as a
special one in Australia’s history that deserves special recognition?
This activity allows participants to examine
closely the Battle of the Coral Sea and to reach their own conclusions on
its significance for Australia.
Working through the activity
This activity is designed for groups or
individuals and consists of an Introduction and five activities designed
to be worked through consecutively. The activity is completely
self-contained within a single, 13 page Acrobat™ file (223kb).
 All

it as required and distribute them to activity participants.
